Which sort of meditation practice should we use?

Posted on Updated on

When we meditate, we may choose to focus on a variety of different meditation objects – affirmations, mantra, visualisations etc etc

So how do we decide which meditation practice to use?

We need to know why we are meditating. If our goal is relaxation, focusing on our body sensations and our breathing allows us to observe signs of relaxation as they occur, creating a positive feedback loop that leads to deeper relaxation.

Meditation and the Body

We experience the world through our senses, but when we are lost in thought we may miss the signals that our body is trying to send us. By switching from thinking mode to sensing mode and bringing high quality attention to your own body, you can learn to relax at will and improve your capacity to experience life to the fullest.

Meditation and the Breath
Our breathing provides us with an instant readout of how tense or relaxed we are in any given moment. This biofeedback allows us to monitor how we are feeling and determine what to do in response. For example, if we are able to notice that we are reacting to a stressful situation by tightening and forcing our breathing, then we can respond by encouraging our breathing to soften and loosen.

The best of both worlds

sweden flaglove heart

If it’s someone who knows how it feels to have the best of two worlds? Then I can honestly say it’s me. I’ve been blessed to be born and brought up in Sweden but lived all of my adult life on the other side of the world – Australia. Many people ask me how it feels when I’m here in Sweden. What can I say. It’s something that practically is important impossible to explain. It’s extremely emotional. It’s given me strength, courage, love, sadness, guilt, anger, adventure, experiences, children, opportunities, passion, understanding, compassion, leadership skills, an open heart, a new set of eyes and so so much more.

My life is a big journey like most people’s. Many goodbyes and hellos. It’s taught me that family is always family and there are truly beautiful people in this world. I keep meeting new people that are like heavenly sent angles. I treasure every opportunity I have to experience and feel. Here I am – as always following my passion and love.

I may say goodbye soon but you are always in my heart. It also means new hellos will come ahead.
My goal is to create a lifestyle that supports an extremely flexible life. I can work everywhere and spend time where I want, doing what I love and spending time with the people I love. I’m in Sweden until the 22/6 and I’m enjoying every second here with friends and family. I’m also sharing my passion for essential oils and wellness here and am looking to partner up with people who wants to be lead and coached by me. My aim is to be back here at the end of the year running more workshops.

When I return back to Australia I look forward to seeing my dear friends and clients there. I’ve got new classes, workshops planned. I also look forward to offer new remedial therapies and to help many more people with nutritional cleansing and coach people to wellness.
I love meeting new people and to just connect. Feel free to contact me anytime.

As I finish my morning walk, I’m ready to start my day and experience what comes along. As we say in oz – have a good one!

With love,

Karin Hagberg

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualising, improving one’s spiritual connection and centring, it has comforting properties that help with focusing the mind on the positive. Frankincense is considered a holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. Frankincense is also a valuable ingredient in skin care products for aging and dry skin. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks.

Frankincense has an approximate ORAC of 6,125 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per litre.
